financial planning advisor in Denver
We are your financial planning advisor in Denver, Colorado.
Valuing sincere, trusted relationships, we partner with our clients for life. Experienced with purposeful financial acumen, we are tested by recessions and market volatility. Disciplined and informed, we ensure our clients’ best interests come first.
Most actively managed mutual funds underperform the index they’re tracking. So why pay an additional 1% or more and receive no value in return? We use passive index funds to keep your fund expenses as close to zero as possible and add value through strategic allocation and diversifying.
Most investors have bought high and sold low and regret the transactions they’ve made-- or didn’t make. We work with you on an investment plan, and we stick to that plan. We remove emotions from investing.
We develop financial plans to help you save more-- for you and your heirs. We help you maximize your tax benefits and savings by setting aside money for retirement accounts and college savings plans. And if you need income, we work with you to make sure you don’t outlive your investments.
We strive to deliver thoughtful financial advice and investment management that’s in our clients’ best interests:
Doug flourished in the liberal arts environment of Duke University, where he wrote fiction with some of the great American authors of the time and edited the weekly Duke arts and entertainment magazine. He then spent 5 years trying to change the world and taught English, art history and learning disabled students in Washington, DC and Denver, while moonlighting as a high school football coach. With a public policy master’s degree in tow from Harvard and looking for his next adventure, Doug was told, “The internet will be the next big thing.” So he embarked on a whirlwind journey in corporate development for technology companies during the time of Web 1.0. After an exhilarating ride of 8 years with startups, Doug decided to harness his financial acumen and trusted relationships and launched Renaissance Wealth Management. Now in its 12th year and with one big recession under its belt, Doug still loves analyzing charts, tweeting about finances and culture and providing his clients with the thoughtful advice they need to achieve their goals.

Half of investors are worried they will outlive their investments. College expenses increase faster than the rate of inflation. Are you taking advantage of the most appropriate savings vehicles, tax-advantaged investments and estate planning strategies? At Renaissance we keep up with the latest research and policies and consult with accountants and attorneys to help our clients prepare for the future.
Whether your business is launching a 401k plan from scratch, or looking to enhance your existing plan, you may not be maximizing the savings and incentives you offer to your staff. Retirement plans can be bloated with unnecessary fees and expensive fund options. At Renaissance Wealth Management we advise our clients in designing plans that accomplish their business goals, help retain key staff and provide them with the most suitable investment options.
